Happy New Year, Satori!
Good News from our flood insurance company! Come to the Board Meeting on Thursday to hear all about it. Also, come to hear about our exciting BBQ plans for May. We have a dynamic and eager group of core committee members who are up and running. Be sure to be here to have your input and choose your participation. All parents will be engaged in this activity to assure the future of Satori. The committee will be making a full report and asking for your input. Our supporters are still responding to the Satori Annual Giving campaign. You have done a great job of reminding everyone to be generous. Thanks for your support and assistance in this effort. We will have a list of donors at the Board meeting.
Friday, December 19, Satori students were treated to a visit by Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. After hearing a reading of “The Night Before Christmas” by Mrs. Claus, Santa helped hand out the Secret Santa gifts to students for their gift exchange. As a treat, the Middle School students sang a rendition of “The Twelve Days of IKE” written by Mrs. Woodlock after reading versions they had written. The Middle School video is now posted on You Tube.
All Satori students will all be participating in a School Field Trip to the Grand Opera House on the morning of Tuesday January 13. They will be seeing a production of “Stella Luna.”
Remember this Friday will be an early dismissal day. Our next holiday will be Dr. Martin Luther King’s Birthday on Monday, January 19. MLK Day will be followed by Parent Conference Day, Tuesday, January 20, with report cards and conferences on mid-year academic progress. There is no school for students these two days.
Sign your child up for the Annual Vision and Hearing Screenings which will be done by Pine Woods Screening Services on Wednesday, January 21. They will also be able to do the scoliosis and diabetes screening if you wish. We will have parent letters at the Board meeting for your convenience.
