HUNDRED’S DAY
Today is the one hundredth day of the school year and we are celebrating! “Chef One Hundred” played by John Campbell visited the Lower School and cooked up 100 pancakes which were served up with syrup and sausage for lunch. Sharon Mims brought 100 treats for the entire school to include the Middle and Upper Schoolers.
KITES, KITES, and MORE KITES
Today the Art classes were led by Kite Building Instructor, Kathy Nixie. She talked about kites, demonstrated a variety of kites, showed how kites are made, and how they fly. The children were totally engaged and we will look forward to more opportunities to interact with Kathy. She does workshops, parties, and schools. Pick up information for contacting her at the desk by the entrance. We hope she will join us for BBQ!
HAITI RELIEF THROUGH THE HEIFER PROJECT
Satori students voted to give the money that they have donated to the Heifer Project for Haiti relief. Heifer has an established presence in Haiti and has an avenue to provide basic relief. Congratulations on a seriously successful project. A total of $443.00 has been raised for Haiti relief by the children with your support.
MARDI GRAS
The Galveston Firefighters Children’s Parade will be Sunday, February 14. We will meet between 12:00 and 1:00 for the 2:00 parade. Everyone should wear “Satori” shirts or sweatshirts if possible. We will carry the Satori sign to identify the group. If anyone has beads to donate for throwing, please let me know and bring them along. Thanks to the advance registrations, Satori students, friends and parents will number close to 30 walkers. Remind children and friends that we are all representing Satori !

Our Solar Panel Monitoring system was recently installed by technicians from Standard Renewable Energy. We now can view how much energy we are producing and consuming. The site gives us a graph comparing the two amounts and gives us an estimate of how much CO2 we are saving and how much money we are saving by producing solar energy.
Today, December 10, will be the beginning of our data tracking project, even though our solar panels have been generating power and benefiting us since they were installed in April. Now we can view the actual usage data, over time. Interested in seeing the data? Please contact our school for information: satori@satorischool.net.
